  Scouts take part in weekend archery tournament By ELIZABETH PEETERS Posted 9 hours ago The Trillium Highland Area Scouts held their first annual archery tournament over the weekend. The youth began the day with a lesson on basic safety and handling of the bows before embarking on the tournament play, six rounds of shooting. While the event was geared for Scouts, a few older Cubs joined in, part of the linking program that connects the younger and older Scout groups together so the transition is smoother for the younger youth when they move up to the senior levels. The Venturer Scouts and leaders were able to try out the shoot to realize it wasn't as easy as they might think. One archer received a bonus when the neighbouring shooter scored a bullseye in her target. This event was organized and run by the Omemee Venturer Scouts, (15 to 17 year old Scouting youth) with the help of their advisors. Trophies were awarded for the highest team score and most improved Scout From Lindsay Post Mar 9 2012
